Develop your understanding of children and young people’s mental health and build knowledge to support wellbeing in education and care settings.
This qualification is designed to help you develop knowledge and understanding of mental health in children and young people. It is ideal if you are looking to progress into further study or employment within health and social care or education sectors.
You will explore common mental health conditions affecting children and young people, understand the impact of mental ill health, and learn about the support available to help maintain positive mental wellbeing. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.
What you’ll cover:
- Children and young people’s mental health in context
- Mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people
- The impact of mental ill health on children and young people
- Support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.

Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
