Silkscreen printing is a stencil-based printing technique where ink is forced through a mesh screen onto a surface. For this short course will you were learn how to make a stencil and then print an image or design onto paper.
You will learn to cut paper stencils following a design or pattern. Print using two to three colours onto paper. Learn to create experimental prints.
The course will cover
- Basic principles of silkscreen printing – design, stencil making, inking and printing through a mesh.
- Experimental printmaking techniques
- Creating and printing from a photo-stencil
