Discover how children’s brains develop and learn how early experiences shape behaviour, learning and emotional wellbeing.

This qualification is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of neuroscience in early years, focusing on how the brain develops in babies and young children from birth to seven years of age.

You will explore how early experiences influence brain development, including the role of the social brain, the limbic system and self-regulation. Understanding these key concepts will help you support children’s learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing more effectively.

Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.

What you’ll cover:

  • Understanding neuroscience in early years
  • Understanding self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to seven years

For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
