Good Maths skills are essential for work and are often required for further or higher education courses. We will support you to develop your skills and make progress towards a Grade 4 at GCSE

The GCSE Maths course runs from September to June, two and a half hours per week. There are final exams at the end of the year in late May and early June but there are opportunities to practice exam techniques informally in class and more formally in mock assessments throughout the year. During the course, you will build your confidence and develop your skills and problem solving abilities in a range of topics including geometry, probability, statistics, ratio and algebra.

You will need to:

  • Be committed to learning and making progress
  • Be able to commit to a least 1hour work outside of class and to catch up with any work missed
  • Be able to achieve 100% attendance
  • Be punctual and prepared for learning

Entry Requirements

To be able to take the GCSE course, students need to be able to demonstrate working at a Grade 3 (old Grade D) standard at the start of the year. This will be assessed at the start of the course.

Further Study

GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent is a requirement for progression into many forms of employment or further study at college or university.

Part-time courses are term-time only.
