Interested in creating a display piece from metal? Then come and handcraft your own unique ornamental rose.

This practical and creative course introduces you to basic metalworking techniques through the process of making a decorative copper rose. Designed for beginners, the course provides an enjoyable and hands-on experience in a workshop environment.

You will learn how to mark out, cut, shape and assemble copper sheet and tubing to form the components of your rose. With guidance from your tutor, you will explore how to manipulate metal safely and effectively while developing confidence using workshop tools and equipment.

By the end of the course, you will have created your own finished copper rose to take home, along with a foundation of skills that can be developed further.

Entry Requirements

No prior experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn a new skill.

All materials required are included in the course fee.

For your safety and comfort, please bring:

  • Closed-toe footwear
  • Long hair tied back
  • No valuable jewellery
  • Protective clothing (e.g. a flame-retardant apron – not plastic-based materials)
  • A drink and snack (there will be a short break)
