Develop the skills and confidence to provide effective information, advice and guidance in a range of customer-facing roles.
This qualification is designed to help you develop knowledge and understanding of the key principles of information, advice and guidance, and how to apply these skills in your own context.
It is suitable if you are working in, or looking to move into, a customer-facing role where supporting individuals with clear and appropriate information is essential. You will develop practical communication and interaction skills, helping you respond effectively to different situations and needs.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.
What you’ll cover:
- Understand information, advice and guidance practice
- Understand the interaction skills required for information, advice or guidance
- Understand skills required by advice providers
- Understand the context of information, advice or guidance
- Understand signposting and referral in information, advice or guidance
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.

All learning materials are provided online. You will need access to a computer or laptop and a reliable internet connection.
