Love gardens and want to learn how outdoor spaces are designed? Take your first step into garden design and learn how to plan, design and present your own creative ideas.

This course is ideal if you would like to develop your knowledge and understanding of the core principles of garden design and gain an introduction to the skills required to create attractive and functional outdoor spaces.

During the course, you will learn how gardens are planned and designed, explore different garden styles, and understand how plants, materials and features are used together to create effective designs. You will also develop practical design skills that allow you to communicate and present your ideas clearly.

To achieve the qualification, you will study three units covering drawing techniques, design development and plant knowledge.

What you’ll cover:

  • Understanding plant knowledge and plant selection
  • Exploring different garden styles and layouts
  • Using materials, features and planting to create functional outdoor spaces

This course requires commitment for the full duration of the programme.
