Thinking about working with children? This could be your first step!
This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and understanding of the needs of young children, aged from birth to five years in a variety of settings. Plus, you will gain key skills to increase your chances of employment.
You will learn about:
- Healthy eating for children and planning activities to encourage children to eat healthily.
- Supporting the provision of a safe learning environment for young children.
- Health and safety requirements and the importance of keeping all children safe from harm.
- Designing a range of play activities for young children aimed at their age and stage of development.
You will also work towards one other qualification which will develop skills and knowledge to enhance your chances of gaining employment:
- Certificate in Progression (Entry 3)
- Award in Employability (Entry 3)
Commitment to attending each class for the full duration of the course is required. It is expected that students will complete homework outside of the classroom.
Entry Requirements
You will need to have level 1 English and you will have an initial assessment to ensure that you are on the correct course.
