Develop the knowledge and understanding needed to protect dignity, promote respect and safeguard vulnerable adults in care settings.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a clear understanding of dignity and safeguarding within adult health and social care. You will explore how to respect and protect the dignity of individuals while meeting professional responsibilities around safeguarding, duty of care and ethical practice.
The course is suitable if you are working with, or intend to work with, vulnerable adults in health or social care settings. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.
What you’ll cover:
- Understanding safeguarding in adult health and social care
- Principles of dignity in adult health and social care practices
- Understanding duty of care in adult health and social care
- Understanding dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.

Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
