Build the knowledge and confidence needed to support individuals through effective, person-centred care planning.

This qualification is designed for you if you are looking to enter employment in, or progress within, health and social care or related sectors where an understanding of care planning is essential.

You will develop knowledge of person-centred approaches and learn how care plans support individuals’ health, wellbeing and daily living needs. Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that suits your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured support from experienced tutors.

What you’ll cover:

  • You will study the following units:
  • Understanding person-centred thinking and planning
  • Care planning for the care worker
  • Understanding nutrition and hydration in health and social care settings
  • Principles of supporting an individual to maintain personal hygiene
  • Understanding continence care
  • Principles of supporting sleep

For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to successfully achieve the qualification.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 or equivalent English language qualification required.
