Build your understanding of mental health and wellbeing and take a positive step towards a career in health, social care or education.
This qualification is designed to help you develop a strong knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental wellbeing. You will gain insight into how mental health affects individuals across different stages of life and learn how this knowledge can support progression into employment or further study within health, social care or education settings.
Studying online gives you the flexibility to learn at a time and pace that fits around your work or home commitments, while still receiving structured guidance and tutor support.
What you’ll cover:
- The context of mental health and wellbeing
- Promotion of mental health and wellbeing
- Mental health problems, associated issues and consequences
- Understanding mental ill health
- Working in mental health
Throughout the course, you will develop an understanding of mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have changed over time. You will explore ways to support mental wellbeing, understand mental ill health and treatment options, and develop awareness of the skills required to work within mental health services.
For each unit, you will complete a set of knowledge-based questions as part of the formal assessment. Your tutor will provide feedback after each unit. All assessments must be completed and passed to achieve the qualification.
Entry Requirements
You will need a Level 2 or equivalent English language qualification to enrol on this course.
