Student Puts Learning to Great Use!

Published 05 August

One of our adult learners has been putting the skills and knowledge she learned in her part-time classes to great use away from the classroom!

Sara Spillett Post Production in Film

Sara Spillett took the Post Production in Film – Introduction course, which is designed to introduce the essential skills required for post-production in filmmaking, with a focus on editing, sound and visual effects. Using the skills she gained throughout the course, and some extra tips from tutor Ben Pearson, Sara had the opportunity to interview Sir John Lawton CBE FRS, Past President and Chair of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust as part of her role as a Trust’s “Telling our Story” Volunteer. You can watch Sara’s video below!

Sara said, “The course has been absolutely outstanding. Ben changes his delivery mechanism to suit what is needed. There is a diverse range of skills and knowledge within the group, and he ensures that we are all given what we need to progress.”

Ben Pearson, Lecturer in Creative Media added, “This is a great set of courses that helps adult students develop new skills and abilities for different career paths, to enjoy a new hobby or to just learn a new skill! It’s great to see students like Sara who is able to take everything she learnt within the classroom and put it into her own work and passions”.
