College Celebrates Student Success at Great Yorkshire Show

We are celebrating the success of Apprentice Alfie Wright after his success at the Best Agricultural Student Awards.

The Best Agricultural Student Awards, delivered by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, celebrate the best of emerging talent in farming across colleges and universities in the North of England. Typically awarded at the prestigious Great Yorkshire Show at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, these awards acknowledge the well-trained and enthusiastic people joining the world of farming, to keep the industry competitive and of high quality.

Level 2 General Farm Worker Apprentice Alfie Wright has recently completed his apprenticeship whilst working on his family dairy farm and was recognised for his efforts.

The Society said of Alfie, before presenting his award, “Throughout his training, Alfie demonstrated an excellent attitude, outstanding attendance, and a strong commitment to learning, achieving an overall Merit grade.

“Alfie has developed a solid range of practical farming skills and approaches his work with enthusiasm, reliability, and professionalism. He consistently maintains high standards and has shown maturity beyond his years in balancing the demands of both his apprenticeship and responsibilities on the farm. Looking to the future, Alfie plans to take over the family contracting business, highlighting his ambition and dedication to agriculture.
