With the first term of the year well underway, Level 3 Extended Diploma Performing Arts students started theirs off with an audition preparation workshop led by Maisie Allen, a 3rd Year Musical Theatre Degree student at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester.

With so many students aspiring to work in TV, film, theatre, and other creative sectors, nailing the audition process for their application to drama school is key in opening doors and creating opportunities.

In previous years, Craven College students have progressed on to Leeds Conservatoire and LMA, after first successfully taking part in an in-person audition consisting of an acting audition, and workshops in singing and dance.

Maisie delivered a workshop that recreated that audition process, putting the students through their paces in singing and dance, and giving them the experience of a drama school audition.

Tutor Tom Aldersley said, “Maisie has successfully navigated and assisted in the audition of students at one of the top drama schools in the country, and for our students to be exposed to that up-to-date, real-world experience will be vital for when they go through the process themselves.”

Maisie was full of praise for the Craven College students “They are of a very high standard, and hopefully now better prepared to meet the demands of the audition processes they are about to go through. I no doubt will be seeing some of them at The Arden and know they will be successful in their endeavours”.
