Carole Griffiths is a practicing sculptor and also delivers her wonderful Wax to Bronze courses as part of our Adult and Part-Time provision at Craven College.
Following a year’s guest artist residency with Walnut Works, the culmination of Carole’s work was exhibited at BOTH Gallery.
Carole’s body of work was titled ‘A Hand-Made Tale’ and is a continuation of her investigation into how the ‘futensil,’ an assemblage of kitchen items with fragments of women, can be expressed through bronze to bring together a portable collection of memories.
During our Wax to Bronze course, students learn how to sculpt in wax ready to be transferred to bronze, using the Lost Wax Process by Kabir and Vicky Hussain at Walnut Works in Suffolk.
Carole says, “I am looking forward to bringing my experiences and knowledge of developing the practice of wax to bronze to further courses at Craven College.”
