College Celebrates Student Success
Staff, students and special guests joined together in College this week to celebrate a year of student successes at the Further Education Students Awards 2025.

We were joined by Dean Langton, Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors, Sara Wright, Governor, Susan Francis, Director of Governance, and Ian Lockwood, Chair of The Skipton Mechanics’ Institute to celebrate a year of triumph, academic achievement and resilience amongst our students and it was a privilege to be able to share in such a special occasion.
We were incredibly grateful to The Skipton Mechanics’ Institute for their generous sponsorship of the prize giving in the form of a donation of £500. It was incredibly fitting that in the year Craven College celebrates 200 years since its inception from Skipton Mechanics’ Institute, Ian Lockwood joined us to help give out the prizes.

“The nominations highlight the personal strengths and achievements of each of you, and I hope you will take pride in being put forward for the 2025 FE Awards as recognition of your commitment and success on your course so far.
To you, students of Craven College – as you continue on your journey, I encourage you to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead with the same enthusiasm and determination that have brought you this far. I have no doubt that you will continue to achieve great things and make significant contributions. Well done!”
Dean Langton, Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors commented, “To those of you who have been successful in winning an award, I would like to congratulate you on your success.
I don’t know many people who don’t like some sort of recognition for the work they’ve done, and I am sure you are no different. And I am sure there will have been times when you have had doubts about your ability to do the work, to improve or to even contribute. But you should be clear – these awards are a testament to your hard work, diligence and perseverance and you should be rightly proud of what you have achieved.”
A huge congratulations to all students nominated, you should all be very proud of your efforts!
