Below you’ll find everything you need to know about enrolling at The Aviation Academy.

Enrolment is a process that all Aviation Academy students will go through, whether you are a new or returning student. Which process you need to follow and what information you need to bring will depend on which level of course you study, and each enrolment process is listed below.

At your enrolment session, you will have the opportunity to speak with tutors and support teams to ensure you are happy with your choice of course and level.

Enrolment for Aviation Students will take place at The Aviation Academy, Hangar 1, Southside Aviation Centre, Leeds, LS19 7UG

Please note: All other students/courses will enrol at our Skipton Campus – Aireville Campus, Gargrave Road, Skipton, BD23 1US

Enrolment Sessions

Minimum entry requirements for joining The Aviation Academy are 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including Maths and English Language. If you do not meet these requirements, please go to the Skipton Campus on enrolment days and ask for the Travel & Tourism enrolments, where Level 1 pathway options will be discussed with you.

Further Education Enrolment Information (New & Returning Students)
Progressing Students (Not waiting for results)
  • Tuesday 18 August, 1pm – 4pm

If you are not waiting for results and can’t attend the above date, then please come along to one of the New and Progressing Students slots below.

New Students and Progressing Students
  • Thursday 20 August, 9am – 7pm
  • Friday 21 August, 9am – 2:30pm
  • Monday 24 August, 10am – 4pm

Higher Education (Degree) Enrolment Information

Before you enrol as a degree student, please take a look at the Pre-enrolment information:

Returning Degree Students

All returning internal students will be emailed a link to enrol to their student email account before the start of term and invited in to enrol.

New Degree Students

New students will be enrolling in person at one of the following dates and locations

  • Thursday 13 August, Time – 10am – 2pm (Aviation Academy, by appointment)
  • Thursday 27 August, 4pm – 7pm (Aviation Academy)

What you need to bring

When you attend enrolment, please ensure you bring:

  • Examination results slips/certificates – these must be your original certificates/results slips or an electronic copy

  • A form of ID – Acceptable forms of I.D are: National Insurance Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Bank Card, ID Card or other forms of national identification

  • Disclosure Scotland (Police Criminal Record Check) – The blue certificate received in the post or proof of application before enrolment. Please note that enrolment cannot take place without this. Visit Disclosure Scotland Application link here
    Or You can now apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as an alternative to Disclosure Scotland. The cost of a basic disclosure through DBS is £21.50. DBS apply here
  • If you require any exam support and would have received some at school, please make sure that bring along your evidence of your exam access with you
  • For students aged 19 and over – Please bring with you proof of income-related benefits, confirmation of Advanced Learner Loan, or if you are paying your fees, you will be required to bring a 20% course fee deposit. Where fees are to be paid wholly or in part by an employer/sponsor, confirmation in writing must be produced at enrolment.
    You will also need to bring Evidence of settled status in UK – evidence of your status will be required if you have not lived in the UK/EU for three years or more (passport, ID, visa status etc).

If you are a Degree Level student, you will also need:

  • Your University/College Payment Advice from the Student Loans Company (you can download this page from your online account). If you are still waiting for this due to applying through Clearing, please upload that you have applied for student finance showing your name and customer reference number. (If Student Finance are paying your fees but you cannot provide proof, you will not be able to enrol.)
  • If you plan to pay your fees yourself a 20% deposit is required, and the remainder may be paid by Direct Debit. Please call the Customer Services Team on 01756 791 411 to make a card payment for your deposit or fees in full.

  • Where fees are to be paid wholly or in part by an employer/sponsor, confirmation in writing must be produced at enrolment.
