Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
Teaching Assistants play an important role in supporting learners across a range of educational settings, including primary, secondary and special schools, alternative provision, sixth forms and colleges.
Throughout the programme, learners develop the knowledge and skills needed to support teaching and learning, helping pupils to engage, make progress and achieve their potential. Teaching Assistants work alongside teachers to support individuals and small groups, reinforce learning, and encourage positive attitudes and behaviours in the classroom.
They work with a diverse range of learners, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), English as an Additional Language (EAL), high-attaining learners and those requiring additional support. Teaching Assistants help create safe, inclusive and engaging learning environments where all learners can succeed.
Working closely with teachers, parents, carers and other education professionals, they support learners’ academic, social and emotional development while promoting wellbeing, safeguarding and positive behaviour.
On completion, learners will be equipped to work confidently within educational settings, supporting teaching, learning and pupil development while contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
