Overview

This course will explore what is meant by mental health and well-being, we will examine the most common mental health conditions and look at their treatments. We will consider the role of specialist organisations and how they can support people and families. Together we will review the support for a person in crisis and what advice there is in the local community. Finally, we will review how to maintain good mental health.

Your choices may include:

Progress to further study that can eventually lead to your training to be a Mental Health First Aid provider.
With several years part-time training you could qualify as a Therapeutic Counsellor. You would need to complete the Level 3 Counselling Skills Course, then progress to university for either two years part-time or four years part-time.
