Hairdressing

This course will teach you the techniques and skills to cut, colour, style, shape and dress both male and female clients’ hair to create the look they want.

Working with real clients in Craven College’s Style Academy is a perfect way to start your career in Hairdressing or Barbering either as a full-time student or as an Apprentice.

Having relocated to the Aireville Campus, students now benefit from brand new, fully equipped, state of the art commercial salons using top professional equipment and products make an ideal learning platform for you to learn the practical as well as the theoretical side of Hairdressing.

You will be taught the techniques and skills to cut, colour, style, shape and dress both male and female clients’ hair to create the look they want by Barbering and Hairdressing specialists. You will also learn customer service skills that are essential when working in front of house with clients in salons and industry.

Visiting experts make sure you are exposed to the most up to date information and developments in areas such as straightening techniques and products, Barbering and colouring. As a Hairdressing student, you can take part in internal and regional competitions which are a wonderful platform to show off your newly found talents.

Entry Requirements

  • Level 3 – Level 2 in Hairdressing including English or maths GCSEs grade 9-4
  • Level 2 – 4 GCSEs grade 9-3 including English & maths
  • Level 1 – 3 GCSEs grade 9-1 including English & maths
