Forestry & Arboriculture

Do you have ambitions to work in commercial forestry or urban tree management?  This course is designed to help you master industry specific skills and the practical hands-on expertise you will need to start a successful career in Forestry and Arboriculture.

Based on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, our rural College campus will give you access to a broad range of estates and national parks through our extensive and well-established employer links.  Our students benefit from an industry-focused curriculum, a passionate and experienced curriculum team and a supportive learning environment here at Craven College. Students will develop their skills and confidence, preparing themselves for a rewarding and impactful career in forestry and arboricultural industries.

Work experience is a mandatory element on this programme. By integrating real-world exposure into education, students will have the opportunity to further develop their practical skills and their understanding of the industry. Based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, we have a rich and diverse range of local businesses and charities that are keen to work with students. Work experience will not only enhance employment prospects but will also allow students to develop their confidence and resilience in the world of work, build networking connections, and increase their passion for working with the local rural community.

  • Level 2 – 4 GCSEs grade 9-3 or equivalent including English & maths
