Travel Support
Travel to and from Craven College is usually FREE with our travel bursary *
Students with a household income of £33,000 or less can claim a maximum of £270 per term for their main journey. We ask that students use the cheapest form of public transport and make use of any travel passes.
Once enrolled onto a course, students can apply for bursary travel financial support – Apply here
At the end of each term, students must download a travel claim form from Moodle and send the completed form to bursaries@craven-college.ac.uk

The Dales Railcard costs £10 per person, it is valid weekdays after 8.15am, all day on weekends and bank holidays and lasts for one year. |
NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL TRAVEL SCHEME
If you are a full-time student aged 16-18 and live 3 miles or more from Craven College you can apply for the North Yorkshire County Council Travel Scheme. Discounts are offered for students from low-income household and terms and conditions apply. 16-25 STUDENT RAILCARD
A 16-25 Railcard gives you a third off Standard Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance tickets when you travel after 10:00 Monday to Friday and any time at weekends and on Public Holidays. The 16-25 railcard is available to purchase at your local train station or https://www.16-25railcard.co.uk/ and costs £35 per year.
Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities
If you consider yourself to have a disability or require special needs assistance with transport, you need to apply to your local authority. They may ask you to send them a letter from your doctor or designated medical officer. If you have a Statement of Special Educational Needs, this will be carefully considered.
If the application for special transport is approved, this will be arranged by the Integrated Passenger Transport Group who will write to you with details of the arrangements.
Travelling by Bicycle
The College is keen to support and promote both healthy living and measures to reduce pollution. We encourage all staff and students to use alternative methods of transport where possible and to consider walking, cycling or car sharing. Cycle shed lockers and shower facilities are available for cyclists.
Travelling by Car
If you travel by car, provided there is no cheaper form of travel by public transport, Craven College can support up to £270 per term towards the cost of the travel. Please apply for travel financial support through the bursary https://craven.paymystudent.com/portal/
If you wish to park at the Aireville Campus car park in the daytime (8.30am – 5pm) you will need a Student Car Park Permit. This costs £5 per academic year and is available from Craven College Reception.
