Our Performing Arts students started the year with the exciting opportunity of taking part in a workshop with Falling Stars Theatre Company.
Led by Artistic Director Beccy Durham, students immersed themselves in creating and storytelling, using a variety of techniques to create quality theatre with heart, raising awareness of different issues and telling stories to ignite, engage, and immerse the audience.
Our dynamic course in Performing Arts allows students to immerse themselves in the world of Creative Arts and develop the essential skills and techniques that will enhance their future progression. Over the course of the year, they are given the opportunity to work with local industry specialists which provides essential work experience and networking opportunities. Indeed, two of our students Jacob Haw-Wells and Annie Topham are taking part in the touring “The River Project” with Falling Stars Theatre Company following their visit to College last year.
Abi Bailey, Performing Arts Lecturer said, “The curriculum of our Performing Arts and Industry Specialist course is carefully curated to provide a holistic understanding of the industry and its demands. Students have the opportunity to collaborate their classmates and industry professionals on exciting projects, performances, and productions. This hands-on experience will not only enhance practical skills but also foster teamwork and communication, essential attributes in the performing arts industry.”
