New Partnership Bringing Rewards

Published 10 April

We are delighted to announce an innovative training collaboration with Silver Cross.

With a shared commitment to fostering excellence in early years education, this partnership will enable apprentices at Craven College to gain practical skills together with valuable insights into industry standards and best practice.

Silver Cross collaboration

As part of the Government’s “Do Something Big” campaign, the College is actively recruiting new apprentices and employers to join its growing programme. This initiative encourages individuals to make a difference in young children’s lives whilst gaining recognised qualifications and practical experience in high-quality early years settings. We remain committed to training the next generation of early years educators, equipping them with the skills needed for rewarding careers.

Silver Cross are one of the first employers to work with the College as part of this initiative. Working alongside the apprenticeship team, they have supplied cots, travel systems, highchairs, and wall art to transform the learning environment into an exciting space for early years education. They have visited College on a number of occasions providing comprehensive training on their products for apprentices, including crucial sessions on the legislation of car seat fitting and ensuring that apprentices are equipped with the essential knowledge of safety and health and safety regulations.

Helen Hanson, Finance Operations Manager at Silver Cross said, “We believe in investing in the future of early years education. Partnering with Craven College to provide essential training and resources aligns perfectly with our mission to support educational initiatives that prioritise child welfare and development”.

Louise Clarke, Apprenticeship Course Coordinator added, “The apprenticeship team at Craven College are looking forward to continuing this partnership, using these newfound resources and knowledge to enrich the lives of children in our care. We are very grateful to Silver Cross for their recent donation of essential nursery goods and educational resources.

“As the childcare industry has a need for its apprentices to ‘hit the ground running’, it places Craven College in a unique position to allow us to deliver a hands-on approach to learning, with practical training within the classroom.”

One of our Early Years apprentices said “to have Silver Cross supporting us is amazing. The training sessions on car seat safety has been particularly useful, allowing me to understand all the aspects of children’s safety during travel.

The impact of Silver Cross’s donation embodies a strong investment in the growth and development of future childcare professionals.  As the apprentices embark on their courses with enhanced resources we are grateful to Silver Cross for their ongoing support.
