Craven College is celebrating once again as its GCSE and Level 2 students collected their results.

This summer saw 486 students sit maths GCSE, and 382 sit English GCSE at Craven College, and today was the culmination of their hard work and dedication. Students studying maths achieved 88% pass rate, 2.3% above the national average, whilst English students achieved 87% pass rate this summer. 31 Level 2 courses achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate in subjects such as Art & Design, Aviation, Catering, Construction, Computing, Equine, Hairdressing, Land & Wildlife, Motor Vehicle, Performing Arts, Public Services, Science, Sport, and Travel & Tourism.

Anita Lall, Principal and CEO of Craven College commented, “We’re immensely proud of all our GCSE and Level 2 students, they have worked really hard and this is reflected in their wonderful results. These qualifications are vital to allow our students to continue their studies and to progress into the world of work.
Enrolment for September 2025 starts today. For anyone who has received results and is undecided on their next steps, we would be delighted to welcome you into College to discuss your next steps and speak to us about enrolling on a course.”

Alongside our 16-18 students, a number of adult learners have returned to education this year to achieve their qualifications.

Wendy Newall, Head of Department for English and Maths added, “Congratulations to all our adult learners who have taken the step to return to education to achieve their maths and English GCSEs. All their hard work has really paid off and we’re thrilled for them on their results.
Maths and English are vital skills that enhance employability and career prospects. We are offering enrolment for our adult learners from today at our Aireville Campus for anyone who would like to discuss their options for learning.”

Collecting his results on campus today was Tyler Kollakowski, who is studying a Level 3 Health & Social Care course at Craven College and successfully gained Grade 4 in his GCSE maths. Talking about his experience at College, Tyler said, “I’ve learnt a lot more studying maths at College than at school. The tutors were really helpful and their approach to teaching meant that I found it easier to learn. I did a lot of past papers too to help me, so I felt much more confident sitting my exams this year.”

Millie Dobson successfully gained her GCSE maths, achieving Grade 4, as well as achieving Distinction in her Level 3 Public Services course at College. Millie’s next steps are to join the police force and spoke of the maths team at College saying “They are really friendly and I want to give a shout out to tutor Jeanette Walsh, who has been great. I’m now looking at my options to join the police force and considering a degree apprenticeship.”

Also celebrating his GCSE maths results was Ardon Mjrkiqi, who is studying Electrical at College. Ardon achieved Grade 4 and said, “I found that studying GCSE maths at College more relaxed and less pressured, which worked for me. The teaching was good and my tutors were really professional.”

Those receiving their results today who have not yet applied for a course starting this September, can still enrol on a course at Craven College. Craven College offers a wide range of Further Education courses from Entry Level to Level 3, T Levels and Apprenticeships. Enrolment 2025 starts from Thursday 21 August at Aireville Campus and visitors will have the opportunity to speak to tutors and Careers Teams about their next steps.
