Craven College has a range of free part-time courses starting from September 2023 for any adults, aged 19 and over, who are thinking about gaining qualifications for employment, learning a new skill, or simply want a new hobby.

Adults can benefit from free courses in a wide range of subjects such as Ceramics, Printmaking, Reflexology, Fitness Instructing, Accounting, Brickwork, Painting & Decorating, Dry Stone Walling, Counselling, Criminology, Family History, Floristry and Sign Language. To be eligible for any of the free courses on offer, applicants must live within a North Yorkshire local authority area.

The College also offers a number of other part-time courses for adults, with varying course fees, that include Dog Grooming, Art & Design, Stained Glass, Beauty Therapy, Personal Training, Leadership & Management, Plastering, Joinery, Plumbing, English and Maths, Adult Care and Languages, and there may be fee remission available on many of these courses.

Melanie Cairns, Head of Adult Education, Leisure and Community comments, “We’re offering a diverse range of courses for adults that start this September. Studying one of our courses really helps improve people’s health and well-being, by offering a fun way to socialise and make new friends whilst learning a new skill. Engaging with adults from across the district, through a variety of courses and working together is also contributing towards developing stronger local communities.”

The College is already experiencing high demand for their adult part-time courses and places are limited.

Adult Part-time prospectuses are now available to pick up in local supermarkets in Skipton, Keighley, Ilkley, Addingham, Earby, Barnoldswick and Settle and anyone interested in starting a part-time course can also apply at www.part-time.craven-college.ac.uk
