Community and Projects Team Get People Online!
As part of the recent National Get Online Week, the Community and Projects Team collaborated with the Craven Libraries Team to engage with local residents at Skipton Library and South Craven Community Library.

Run by the Good Things Foundation in conjunction with the National Digital Inclusion Network, this national initiative aims to help millions of people learn new skills and confidently get online through delivery of free sessions within the community. Running from 19 to 25 October, we were delighted to be part of such an important campaign helping to raise digital inclusion and advocate for everyone to be able to participate in an increasingly digital society.
The team from Craven College promoted our digital community courses and highlighted the personalised 1:1 support available through the Projects Team to help individuals build skills and confidence in using digital technology. Members of the public were also able to gain hands-on experience with QR codes and learn about AI – exploring practical ways it can be used in everyday life.
Mel Cairns, Head of Adult Education said, “Digital skills are now as important as literacy and numeracy in everyday life. As technology continues to shape how we access services, seek employment, and connect with others, it is vital that people of all ages have the confidence and support they need to develop these essential skills.”
