Jenny Cox, Exams Officer, Bev Skaife, Head of Evolve, Wesley McGlinchey, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Student Experience, and Nikki Chestnutt, Head of Aviation and Travel have been invited to attend an education-focused royal garden party by the Department of Education on Wednesday 14 May. This special garden party will focus on education and skills, including growth industries and we’re thrilled that these special members of staff are getting recognition and representing Craven College!

As Head of the College’s Evolve provision in Ripon, North Yorkshire, Bev Skaife has dedicated her life and career to supporting students with special educational needs and social, emotional & mental health difficulties. She has had a significant impact on the lives of these students and their families for nearly three decades and remains as committed as ever
Wesley McGlinchey has worked in FE for over 25 years and is one of the few male managers that leads on early years education. Having started life as an early years teacher he is thoroughly committed and dedicated to FE and the early years sector and in supporting students to achieve their potential.
As Head of our Head of Aviation Academy, Nikki Chestnutt works tirelessly to create partnerships with the aviation industry as she is passionate about her students getting the opportunities to work in this sector. Nikki was instrumental in setting up a student ambassador scheme with Leeds Bradford airport which has been working successfully for many years with many students successfully obtaining full time jobs in the industry after completing their qualifications.
Anita Lall, Principal and CEO said, “I am delighted that Craven College staff have been nominated to attend the King’s Garden Party this year – I am very proud of the contribution that each of them have made to further education and am so pleased that this has been recognised by the Department for Education.”
