Celebrating 200 years with Woolly & Whinny

Woolly and Whinny originally joined the College as novelty squishy gifts given away at launch events for the Animal Management Centre (Woolly) and Craven Equine (Whinny). As 2025 is the 200th year anniversary of Craven College as part of celebrating our history, we’ve brought them back to be full-time staff members to help promote the College far and wide!

Woolly will be out and about visiting local landmarks and places, communities, and businesses linked to our College.

Whinny is going global! She’s jetting off with staff and students to far-reaching places connecting our College with nearly all the world’s continents.

Their adventures are going to be captured on camera and by the end of summer, Woolly and Whinny will have visited at least 200 locations to match our 200-year anniversary!

“Hi, I’m Woolly.”

Woolly is a simple soul, never happier than when he’s pottering around his hometown of Skipton. With a free spirit despite his home-loving nature, Woolly can often be found in one of his favourite local haunts, meeting local friends, or taking a stroll out and about to enjoy the local beauty spots.

“And I’m Whinny.”

Whinny is a free spirit, who lives her life on the open road! Her globetrotting exploits have already taken her to some of the most beautiful and exciting spots in the world and she’s excited about saddling up, galloping off on some adventures and sharing her travels.  

Where’s Woolly?

As a College, we want to be at the heart of our communities, that’s why Woolly will be out exploring locations connected to the College. Whether it’s towns and villages our students live in, local businesses, events, or recognisable local landmarks, Woolly will be showcasing the many wonderful areas within our district and asking you to guess ‘Where’s Woolly?!’

Look out for Woolly at some of our local events and be sure to take part in competitions running over the summer months! We’ll be asking you to take part in capturing Woolly in your favourite local locations too!

Whinny’s Globetrotting Adventures!

Whinny is flying the Craven College flag in all corners of the world. Whilst Woolly is exploring our stunning local region, Whinny will be venturing to some incredible places nationwide and abroad, accompanied by our College staff and students. Whinny has already ticked off some bucket list places and activities and will keep exploring until it’s time to enrol at the end of August.
