Gillian Thom title

I have a passion for plants, conservation and the natural environment and a strong belief in the value of environmental education. In addition to working at the College, I am employed as an External Examiner for Chester University examining Countryside and Environmental Degree Courses and have acted as a consultant for the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. 

My Qualifications...

  • BSc Joint Honours in Botany & Geography (Durham University)

  • PGCE in Geography and Science

  • Post Graduate Certificate in IT to Support Special Educational Needs

Did you know...
  • I used to run a Wildlife club for children which covered everything from examining animal droppings to leading bat walks.
  • My favourite holidays are packing my tent on the back of my bike and heading off into the unknown.
