Supported Internships
Are you aged 16-24 with an EHCP? Join the supported internship programme and prepare for paid employment.
A tailored package will be created for you running from September – July. The course duration is 1 year with at least 6 months in the workplace. The programme combines unpaid work with an employer and time in College to gain skills such as maths, English & employability skills. The job is specially adapted to meet your skills and ability whilst fulfilling a genuine business need for the employer. You would receive a job coach (a member of staff) who will mentor you and offer support and build confidence when in your workplace.
What kind of jobs could you do?
It could be a practical job that can be learned through practice and repetition and could include working in a warehouse, catering establishment, estates, retail or administration setting.
After completing you will gain a qualification in Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills.
