Performing Arts – Alice in Wonderland
Like the rest of the theatre world, the Year 2 Performing Arts students have been unable to perform to a live audience since March 2020. However, on Saturday 24 May they performed their final major project “Alice” to small socially distanced audiences in the college theatre. This was an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic book by Lindsay Price and by all accounts, ‘ A magical trip to Wonderland!’ Carroll’s original tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” represents the child’s struggle to survive in the confusing world of adults. To understand our adult world, Alice has to overcome the open-mindedness that is characteristic for children. Apparently, adults also need rules to live by.
The audience, who were also treated to Afternoon Tea after the performance, loved the performance and were looking forward to seeing more in the coming academic year.
