There are a wide range of support resources available to you. Here are some of the main ones
Student Support Services
We provide 1:1 mentoring surrounding your health and well-being and signpost you to internal and external support services. Visit us in the Whernside Building or contact us on 01756 707 255 or email: studentservices@craven-college.ac.uk
Counsellors
Offer free and confidential one-to-one support for mental health and personal challenges.
SEND Team
Ensure equal access to education with tailored assistance for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Financial Aid Office
Offer advice and guidance with loans and budgeting advice including helping you find and apply for financial support.
Career Advisors
We guide you in getting work experience, job placements, and building your C.V. Our job boards and fairs help you connect with potential employers during and after your studies.
Librarians
Assist with research, finding resources and improving study skills. Find us in the Learning Hub in the Whernside Building.
Student Union
Join clubs and societies that match your interests, whilst taking part in regular events and activities. Find us in the Whernside Lounge.
Academic Tutors
Provide guidance and advice on academic challenges and decisions.
Prayer Room
A serene and welcoming area which provides a quiet space for reflection and spiritual practice for all. Find it in the Whernside Building

Student Action for Refugees (STAR)
Student Action for Refugees (STAR) is a national network of students building a more understanding and just society where refugees are welcomed and can thrive in the UK. Their student groups based in colleges and universities and a central team of experts work together to:
- Volunteer locally working directly with refugees, building understanding and connections
- Campaign nationally for policy change and equal access to higher education for refugees
- Learn about refugee protection and the asylum journey in the UK with experts and peers

We understand that for many students, English language skills and becoming familiar with academic English can be a significant barrier.

International Office: Provides guidance on visas, immigration and adapting to life in a new country.
Local Resource
Skipton Refugee Support Group: Seek to support refugees in Skipton and in the wider world, and to promote awareness of refugee issues. We are closely linked to other groups in the Craven area (Malhamdale, Upper Wharfedale, Settle, Bentham) via the Craven Refugee Support Network.
