Infrastructure Technician - aimed at Help Desk Technicians, First of Second Line Support roles, IT Infrastructure or Network Support.

Working in a technical support role in IT will vary depending on the business. You could be working for a business providing contracted IT services to other businesses or you could be in an in-house IT Department within a large company, school, hospital etc. You will be helping your customers with their IT issues as well as the maintenance and upgrade of IT systems, infrastructure and hardware.

HGV Service & Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

A Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Engineer Standard is an Advanced Apprenticeship and will take three years to complete as a direct qualification. An HGV Engineer inspects and repairs HGVs, categorised by the Department of Transport as category N2 or N3, and associated trailers, with the associated ancillaries. They work in either a dealership that focusses on a particular manufacturer, or for an independent garage, franchise or large fleet operator that deals with many different makes of vehicles. They work on all the systems found within the vehicle. The nature of the work ranges from replacing simple parts through to solving complex faults with the use of diagnostic methods and equipment.

      As a Land-based Engineer Apprentice, you will learn how to work under supervision and where appropriate on your own initiative on a wide range of machinery, plant, equipment and tasks. These tasks may include preparation and pre-delivery inspection of new and used machinery, carrying out scheduled service and routine maintenance operations, preparation of equipment for repair which may include dismantling and reassembly of the equipment and their component parts, conducting system tests and simple diagnostic tasks, handing over machinery plant and equipment to the control and use of others at work.

      Environmental Worker Apprenticeships

      Countryside Workers carry out specific environmental and conservation tasks and they will also be clear about how practical conservation work interacts with the productive and recreational use of the countryside, including allied farming (livestock and crop production) and sporting activities (most commonly fishing and shooting) and how these relate to countryside management practices. For example, a Countryside Worker would know that work on paths on upland farms should avoid lambing season and that work on grouse habitat should be done in the winter.

      Typical job titles of roles that Countryside Worker apprentices may go onto include; Estate Worker, Access Ranger, Maintenance Ranger, Site Warden, Assistant Ranger, Field Operative and Volunteer Leader

      Countryside Workers will be able and willing to do challenging work outdoors, in a variety of locations, which may be remote, including moorland, heathland, woodland and coast, interact with the public and explain their work as well as undertaking their role all year round in a variety of weathers, both on their own and as part of a team.
