Julie Clarkson

I have worked within Early Years for over 30 years working for a range of disciplines. I began working at Airedale Hospital paediatric ward as a nursery nurse and after leaving to have my own family I became a childminder. Two children, later I began working for Social Services with children with individual specific needs. Moving on to Craven College I decided to complete an MA (Early Childhood Studies) and was the placement officer for early years courses. Areas of research interest for me include the effects of poverty on student achievement, gender development, reasons why males do not enter early years professions, equality, diversity and inclusive processes in education.
