Take the first step towards working in adult social care

This qualification develops a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector. It covers type of job roles, the role of communication and the importance of valuing the individuals being cared for.

You will learn about the following topics:

  • Introduction to the Adult Social Care Sector
  • Awareness of Communication in Adult Social Care
  • Introduction to the Values and Principles of Adult Social Care
  • Awareness of the Role and Responsibilities of the Adult Social Care Worker
  • Awareness of the Skills and Attitudes Needed to Work in Adult Social Care

During this course you will also work towards two other qualifications to improve your chances of gaining employment:

  • Essential Digital Skills (Entry 3)
  • Certificate in Progression (Entry 3)

It is expected that students will complete homework outside of the classroom.

  • You will have an initial assessment to ensure that you are on the correct course. 
  • Commitment to the full duration of the course is required.
