Develop your design and making skills in architectural stained-glass, making windows using the traditional lead came method.
This course is aimed at students with some experience of stained glass making. The course is designed to improve your stained glass skills, to become more competent with glass cutting and shaping. Create more complex design work and improve your glass cutting technique following a pattern. You will improve skills with leading and soldering. You will start the course by designing a stained glass window for your home or other architectural building.
The course will look at both historical and modern stained windows, developing an understanding of context and place in the making of stained-glass design. You will learn about different styles and methods of making glass that can inform design compositions.
Learn how to colour mix glass sheets and how to paint on glass using modern glass paints.
Units include:
- Use materials, tools and equipment to develop craft techniques
- Develop craft ideas
- Create, present and evaluate final craft item

This course is designed for improvers in stained glass.
