Do you need maths functional skills for work or for a further or higher education course? Having a maths functional skill qualification can enhance employability and open doors for further study.

This course will allow you to focus on the areas of maths which you find challenging, knowing that you are confident with the remaining topics. We will support you to develop your knowledge and ability, providing you with transferrable skills which will help you at home, work or to apply for further study.

To achieve the qualification, you need to sit and pass two exams:  calculator and non-calculator.

You will complete mock assessments in each exam before being entered for the final examination. You can sit the exams when your tutor thinks you’re ready.

It is expected that students will complete homework outside of the classroom.

Entry Requirements

  • Commitment to the full duration of the course is required.
  • All applicants will receive an initial assessment to determine the correct level of functional skill to be working towards.

Information

You will need to buy a calculator and a maths set – your tutor will give you further information.
