This course is designed to introduce you to the basic functions and formulae of the Microsoft Excel program.
This course is designed for anyone who is new to using Microsoft Excel and wants to build a foundation of skills using the software
Introduction to Excel worksheets working with:
- Ribbons
- The Office button
- Quick access toolbar
- Workbook views (page layout, normal view, full screen)
- Working with worksheets (rename, insert, colour, move)
Inputting data and numbers using:
- Autofill
- Copying and moving data
- Sorting data
- Searching for data and replacing data
Formatting using:
- Font style (font, size, colour, bold, italic, underline)
- Alignment (left, right, centre, merge and centre, wrap and rotate text)
- Number (currency formatting, decimal places, date format)
- Borders (line style, colour, width and shading cells,
- Comment boxes
Using formulae to calculate:
- Total
- Average
- Highest and lowest
Printing:
- Changing margins
- Fitting worksheet to one page
Changing the orientation:
- Placing work in the centre of the page
- Using preview
- Inserting headers and footers
Creating charts and graphs:
- Column, bar and pie charts
- Formatting charts (changing colours, size and background)
