Good English skills are essential to be able to succeed. Having an English functional skill qualification can enhance employability and open doors for further study.

Whatever your previous experience of English, we will support you to develop your knowledge and ability, providing you with transferrable skills which will help you at home and at work.

To achieve the qualification, you need to sit and pass two exams. The exams can be taken at different points in the year and you can re-sit up to a maximum of 3 times in an academic year. For English there are 3 exams for each level: Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening. You will complete mock assessments in each exam before being entered for the final examination.

All applicants will receive an initial assessment to determine the correct level of functional skill to be working towards.
