Improve your communication and listening skills, prepare for the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills which is the second part of this offering.
Do you enjoy communicating or have you enjoyed the Introduction course and want a formal qualification?
This course introduces interpersonal skills for use in work, learning or for personal development. We will consider a range of ways we communicate both verbally and non-verbally. You will also have opportunity to consider your own self-awareness of communication. This course will help you gain skills and confidence to then transition on the the NCFE Cache Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills in the same academic year.
There are three mandatory units to complete in order to achieve this course.
- Unit 1 – Understand the use of interpersonal skills
- Unit 2 – Demonstrate interpersonal skills
- Unit 3 – Understanding assertiveness and self-esteem.
Entry Requirements
As this course is the lead into the Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills you will need to have an informal chat with the course tutor to ensure you understand how this course fits in with the Level 2 certificate that follows on from this.
Further Study
- You could move on to the NCFE Cache Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
- From the Level 2 you can then move onto the Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills which is the course that leads you into counselling training

You can use the Level 1 and Level 2 courses in your work roles, personal life or any volunteering roles. It will enhance your roles if you are working with other people in any role.
