Working with a project brief, you will plan and produce an art and design images. You will also learn about other artists and contexts for making artwork. You will find out about new processes and techniques in the making of art and design.

You will explore different materials and develop an understanding of their visual and tactile qualities. You will develop techniques for manipulation of different craft materials and develop the use of tools required, whilst ensuring that you observe the health and safety aspects of the materials, tools and techniques used. You will be taught in well-equipped studios which have printmaking facilities, graphic studios with Mac Computers, 3D modelling areas as well as Fine Art studio areas to develop painting and drawing skills.  Visits to art galleries and museums are also encouraged.

This course will require some independent study and research as well as college course hours.

This qualification is designed for learners who want to develop skills in art and design.
