Designed for young people (age 10-15) with a passion for animals, this introductory course is made up of hands-on, practical tasks that will give you experience with a wide range of animals from guinea pigs to bearded dragons.
You will cover a variety of topics to include animal handling, feeding, cleaning, accommodation and grooming and you will practice these on a range of species in our animal unit. You will have an opportunity to feed the bearded dragons, handle our snakes, bathe the tortoises and learn about live food. You could be involved with grooming rabbits and guinea pigs, handling our rats and hamsters as well as checking for eggs in the hen coop. With over 30 species of animals, there is plenty to learn about and we do this in a practical way as we know how important hands-on experiences are.
