The Aviation Academy students have participated in a valuable World of Work Week at their airside home at Leeds Bradford Airport with a focus on career planning.

The students went on tours of Leeds Bradford Airport both landside and airside. They benefitted from tours of Multiflight General Aviation Operations as well as Driver Awareness Training from the Fire Service. Counter Terrorism Training formed part of the WoW Week as well as a visit from the Royal Air Force who immersed the students in Operation X a rescuing survivors mission. The Airport Chaplaincy came to explain to the students about their humanitarian work and Angie Stoney from Althams Travel gave them a talk about her role and career in the travel industry.

On top of all this, students successfully completed activities on the principles of flight.

Nikki Chestnutt Centre Manager for The Aviation Academy said, ‘ One advantage of our airside location is the proximity to all the facilities at Leeds Bradford Airport. This week has been amazing and we have been able to showcase many different career paths that the students can follow after they have completed their qualification. Thank you to all the employers who worked with us and to the students who were excellent ambassadors for the Academy.’
