Last week saw Craven College celebrate The Big Green Week – a national week of events celebrating action on climate change.

Students from The Aviation Academy, which is part of Craven College, took part in ‘The Big Green Recycling Week’ during tutorials, exploring Fast Fashion and the devastating impact it has on our environment.

Students were challenged to utilise their communication skills and creative flair, whilst working against the clock, to design an outfit of their choice using only recyclable materials.

Michaela Knox, Progress Coach at The Aviation Academy comments, “This activity was organised to stimulate further thought and discussion around climate change, whilst also giving students the opportunity to develop their skills and participate in a relevant practical and engaging exercise. Similar group tasks are commonly part of assessments in Aviation industry interviews, so the more our students experience these activities, the better prepared they are for working in the Aviation sector.”

If you are interested in applying for a course at The Aviation Academy, visit our next open evening on Wednesday 13 October from 5:30pm – book your place now!
