Craven College is one of only 21 colleges nationwide to become partners with the RFU. As a ‘Focus College', Craven will receive funding and support over 3 years, the aim being to develop rugby within the College sector for both male and female players. The programme will focus on developing players and creating pathways to club rugby and supporting rugby training in College.

Mark Saltmarsh, RFU Head of Education Development said: "Focus Colleges are a key pillar to the future of our work in the education sector. We will work in partnership and even greater depth with these institutions with the aim of ensuring that more of those in the key 16 to 19 year old age band want to continue playing rugby into their adult years. The prospect of achieving our joint goal of keeping more young players on their rugby journey is a really exciting one."

Dean Muir, Subject Sector Leader for Sport said "This partnership will be fantastic for the development of our students as it will help us to build an even stronger rugby talent pool of male and female players."
