Public Services Students Head to Berlin
Public Services students have recently visited Berlin, Germany.
The group of 24 visited the capital city as part of their studies and crammed in a lot during their short stay.
Students visited museums, memorials, and concentration camps, as well as the Olympiastadion (Olympic Stadium) where the famous Jesse Owens won the gold medal in the 100m, 200m, long jump and 4 x 100m relay back in 1936.
The group also paid visits to the Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial, East Side Gallery and Checkpoint Charlie.
Bridget Slater, Public Services tutor who accompanied the students to Berlin, said: “A fantastic time was had by all in an extremely vibrant and fascinating city with an incredible, thought-provoking history. The students enjoyed themselves immensely and learned a lot as well.”
