Public Services Out in the Field

Published 04 January

Eight Public Services students spent a weekend with Giggleswick School Combined Cadets Forces and Kendal Sea Cadets experiencing what it’s like to be a soldier.

Students learned weapon handling skills and how to “attack”  an enemy without being caught using camouflage. They also learned how to live off ration packs and spent their nights “sleeping in the field”.

Bridget Slater, Public Services tutor, said: “What a fantastic weekend it was for all. Despite the weather being absolutely atrocious, the groups powered on through and enjoyed a great couple of days.”
