New Degrees at Craven College
Craven College is celebrating the successful validation of two new Degree Programmes with the University of Hull.
The Degrees in Conservation and Wildlife Management and Animal Husbandry and Welfare have been developed with input from local employers to ensure that they fully develop the skills required by local industries. The Degrees will be taught in Skipton utilising the College’s specialist Animal centre, Land-based facilities and field sites in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
“I am excited to be offering a high quality, vocationally focused Degree covering topics from Wildlife survey to Environmental Education and Geographical Information Systems.” Gillian Thom Programme Lead Conservation and Wildlife Management
Danielle Fox, Head of Department said, “Recent advances in research around animal welfare science will allow us to address the global issue of animal welfare. Here at Craven College, we are delighted to be able to contribute to this with our new degree programme. The course will allow students to gain knowledge and expertise on optimising animal welfare in relation to food production, wildlife conservation, sport, entertainment, companion animals and sustainability.”
All Degree programmes at Craven College are timetabled over two days a week to enable students to work or fit family commitments around study and the validation panel commended the team’s commitment to support and meet student needs.
