Media Student In Area Finals of Open Mic UK

Published 04 November

Rebecca Barron, Media Level 3 student from Bingley has secured a place in the Area Finals of the Open Mic UK competition. She is now only one step away from performing in London where the winner will be given a record deal and perform at the O2 in London.

Having seen the competition on Facebook, Rebecca applied and was successful in the first round of auditions after a gruelling 5-hour wait to perform. She has now been successful in the Regional Finals in Dewsbury with the next stage being the Area Final in November.  If Rebecca is successful she will be through to the final.

Rebecca says, ‘Winning this competition means a lot to me. Lots of people have been singing their whole lives – I have only been having singing lessons and practising for 1 year. Winning would be so good!’

Good luck, Rebecca!
